I called Taras up before his final match. We had to discuss strategy again. This kid didn’t stray away from the game plan even a centimeter. He did EXACTLY what I told him to do and followed through. He stopped all his drop seoinage nonsense and started to discover real, stand up judo. Look at the results. National Champion at heavyweight, just like his coach. Listen to the announcer call out his name, technique, and the score. It’s a beautiful feeling to have your hard work recognized. Good job, kid. Now get back in the room and let’s build off of this.
